BRIEF:

In response to the notion of embracing the spots, dots and flaws that unite us, these title and annotative text boxes will need to display some sort of degenerative or weathered effects.

PROCESS:

Beginning with the ‘annotative text’ scenes, I transcribed these parts of the video and created my text boxes scattered around the composition. I then determined my type-setting styles, and began keyframing my text boxes with the occasional addition of a fluctuating weathering effect. Other scenes also included moving objects and masks for a better narrative and flow.
I then created the pixelated blemish title composition by misaligning the letters and applying a mosaic and threshold effect, as well as other AE blending modes and effects.

OUTCOME:

This video was super fun to help out with and made for an awesome opportunity to test out my after effects skills. The final movie was just as I had imagined my input to look like, and the title effect was a person discovery that I had be meaning to put to use for a long time.
