THE SCARF - My first job for HOUSE3095 was the design of the Chromeback Scarf. This was a collaborative piece representing Graffiti & Street culture reimagined.

Essentially, providing viewers with a guide to dissecting an illegible pattern, into seperate, legible forms.
These forms spelt “CHROME” for Chromeback.

With the addition of HOUSE3095’s designs on either end of the scarf, featuring a Hexcode script, and the House3095 Emblem, The design was complete. We then saw some minor font changes and other small tweaks during the knit-technician’s preflighting, and the prototype was confirmed.
House then directed all promotional content for this drop.

OUTCOME:

The goal was to reference the staunchness of brutalist design, the confidence of data, and the complexity of strong Graffiti lettering, that I find to be so often overlooked - This release aims to highlight this injustice, providing clear examples of Graffiti’s technical and calculated nature, challenging it’s childish or thoughtless predisposition. The drop went smoothly thanks to the Brand’s organisational skills, and the product was clean, well received, and a perfect response to the brief.

INTRO:

HOUSE3095 is a Melbourne based project:
Predominately exploring Fashion and Visual Art. HOUSE is largely inspired by Graffiti, Skateboarding, and Music.

DIRECTION:

When first drafting and discussing direction, the natural aesthetic of my personal Lettering / Graffiti style and technique, guided us towards a Techno-Brutalist aesthetic. This was a direction that HOUSE was already looking for, and why they saw me fit for the job.

PROCESS:

To further capture the desired aesthetic, I explored alphanumeric annotations and visible rulers / guidelines, all informed by my letters, which were constructed with angular, uniform, and modular shapes. These layers were tweaked, omitted, and refined, resulting in a composition of illegible Graffiti lettering, overlayed with annotative lines and boxes, highlighting each character and providing a clear transcription of the below letter-forms.

HOUSE3095 X CHROMEBACK - One year later,
we decided to celebrate the anniversary of our work. A rerelease, bigger and better.

· SRA3 Prints
Two Prints, two collabs.
The idea behind these pieces was to play with collaboration in a multidisciplinary manner. House provides Film photography, I provide Art.
We sifted through files and selected a handful of shots to work with. I sourced existing Art of mine, as well as sketches to develop. I completed digitising a drawing of mine, using the same shapes and themes as the scarf graphic, and designed our two Prints. I then personally printed and cut all 60 SRA3 pieces.

PROMO PROCESS:

Including our Scarf Stock, we now had our full rerelease catalogue in the works. We then began coordinating our marketing strategies:

First we organised a plan for a promotional video, directed by House, got in touch with a videographer, and went out to shoot our film. I then worked with my sound engineer to complete our vision. Now that we had our teaser, we needed to finalise the drop.
To better engage with community on both sides of our platforms, we would hold a giveaway. Winner takes all: x1 each of the full catalogue. For this I did a home shoot, with product shot’s of all 8 items, edited, masked and web ready. We then used these product shots, as well as a collaged shoot I did of all products in one frame, to create our full giveaway and release instagram carousel.

OUTCOME:

Overall, This drop was a far more hands-on experience for me than the prior. On top of doing the design, half of the deliverables for this drop were manufactured from start to finish by me alone. This made for a far more gratifying experience, and solidified my confidence in preflighting, printing, and general crafting ability. It was also a great privilege to be apart of the conversation in regards to our promotional content, as well as helping out on set. The deliverables were exciting and fresh, and are now officially stocked in store as well as online.

MARCH - MAY 2025

INTRO:

I was mid Second year Uni, with new skills, new ideas, and new equipment at my disposal. Opposed to a simple restock, we wanted to dive deeper and go bigger than before, with a complete suite of collaborative pieces to accompany the scarf’s return.

DIRECTION:

This drop was to include more than just the scarf. We wanted to push our collaboration into a new direction, with new mediums. The brand’s graffiti roots + my general style, already naturally covered that of the collab’s pre-established aesthetic, meaning we had plenty of room to play around with a wider variety of outcomes.

DESIGN PROCESS:

First we planned for our deliverables:

· Stickers
Mimicking Graff Stickers, we would create designs with only our names on them, referencing the bold and purely self-promotional nature of graff stickers. These would take the form of 120 Eggshell and 2 X 50 Vinyl, each of the three batches a different variation. Using an existing House3095 brand graphic, as well as a custom design of my own, over the course of a week I designed, printed, and hand-cut the full batch of 100 Vinyl stickers.

· Keychains
House had the idea of producing a set of keychains.
They already had a solid Logomark, so I got to work and created a project specific Chromeback Logo of my own, as well as a Keychain specific set of files for manufacture. Unlike the Chromeback Studio logomark, I wanted this “C” graphic to reflect the themes of the collab, hence using the same shapes and similar letter-structure as that seen in the scarf.
